As the name suggests The NZ5500 was developed specifically for New Zealand with the contractor and farmer in mind. These trailers are designed to work not just to fit in a container. Starting at the front of the trailer with narrow drawbar with swivel tow eye to ensure a tight turning circle and safety if the trailer is overturned. The safety chain mounts are built solid with quick remove pins so if you are using a quick hitch the safety chains can be removed to stop dragging chains.
Heavy duty sprung draw bar with adjustable drawbar height as standard. The colour coded Hydraulic lines and light plug are all feed through the high stalk to ensure that they cant be caught while working and that they are out of the way. The Trailer deck is 2.7 Metres wide and 5.5 Metres long with optional Bale extension with LED marker lights down the side and LED Work lights under the deck that are turned on when the deck is lifted making visibility great for the operator. Below the deck the deck chassis sits inside the main chassis to bring the centre of gravity as low as possible and the hinge pin for the deck is through the chassis to give it the most strength and stability while tipping on uneven ground.
This trailer is fitted with heavy duty 4 leaf spring suspension which is rated to carry 16 tonne which ensures that when the trailer is full to compacity it doesn’t wallow around unlike running a large stack of lighter springs to make up the weight rating. With the heavy-duty leaf springs and extra width, the trailer has been built to with stability and ride comfort in mind. The deck and dirt sides are made with hardox Steel to ensure the longevity and strength of the trailer. The dirt sides and silage sides have got quick coupler hydraulic fittings and lifting eyes fitted so they can be easily removed with a machine.
The trailer is finished with heavy duty Flexi paint that ensures that if the deck flexs from large rocks etc dropping onto the deck it doesnt create a crack or bubble under the paint which then flakes off. The paint is also less prone to stone chips to ensure that even after years of hard work the trailer it still protected by the paint and still looks great.
